ETON SCHOOL IN SERVICE OF OUR COMMUNITY
With joy, generosity, and a growing sense of commitment, Eton Community members have been involved in social service efforts that have become a part of their daily lives and more diversified with each passing school year. Our School family often donates money or goods— such as blankets, food baskets or furniture, to several charities, but also uplifts the spirit of Mexican Alzheimer Foundation patients, little ones in the Unidos por la Montaña program, and AMANC children with cancer, in many personal ways. Our students design and produce in their social service workshop, warm scarves and ponchos; each classroom plans and implements their ways and means to raise funds for their adopted cause. Students share of themselves with music from our chorus and theater activities, bringing smiles and a sense of belonging, to the children and adults they support, and to themselves, through the reality of their efforts. (Eton students learn the value of solidarity and express it with sensitivity: “I learned the meaning of helping others and knowing that a smile or a simple reindeer dance can make someone’s day.” (Andrea Velázquez, 10th grade) “We strive to be: Caring. We show empathy, compassion, and respect for the needs and feelings of others.” (International Baccalaureate Organization) If you want to learn about our community´s work for UNIDOS POR LA MONTAÑA, please watch the following video: |
