A TYPICAL DAY AT ETON
Our days are always changing from one moment to the next, as we rapidly learn new information, skills for thinking and doing, and ways of expressing ourselves.
COMING TOGETHER
We unite, disengage stress, connect with each other, and commit to Conscious Discipline’s “Brain Smart Start” so we’re motivated to begin learning. We discuss what we’ll do throughout the day so we have a sense of safety and can predict what’s going to happen next.
MORNING CIRCLE
GETTING READY FOR THE DAY
We follow a routine of entering the classroom that helps all children transition from home to school life. We’re thrilled to start our day with order and clarity.
MORNING LINE-UP
EXPRESSING OUR IDEAS
Our students’ voices and feedback are always part of our teachers’ planning. In our digital environment, we can interact and explore multiple learning possibilities as we express our thoughts with various materials.
COLLABORATIVE SPACES
REFLECTING AND QUESTIONING
Across a variety of centers, we engage in observation, reflection, and questioning. We strive to figure out the best ways to represent our ideas and undergo several challenges to enhance our abilities.
LEARNING CENTERS
ENRICHING OUR SKILLS
Time for the creative juices to flow! We attend a combination of music, yoga, physical education, art, library, and technology classes throughout the week as part of our enrichment program.
SPECIAL CLASSES
GOING BEYOND
Even from an early age, we're welcome to stay for the After-School Program to continue learning and have fun in exciting activities.
AFTER SCHOOL
A TYPICAL DAY AT ETON
Our teachers enthusiastically encourage our love for learning, as we develop our skills across the subjects, apply our creativity, and become engaged beyond the classroom.
GETTING ENERGIZED
We power up with blood-flowing morning activities like dancing, rhythmic and mindfulness exercises, and lots of love. We begin by connecting, uniting, disengaging stress, and committing to learning as a group.
OUR “BRAIN SMART” START
GOING BEYOND
The learning never stops! After school, we carry our interests beyond the classroom in sports, theater, and music classes, where we can learn something new or further refine existing abilities.
AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
APPLYING CREATIVITY
In our magnificent art room, we’re surrounded by beautiful objects and the awe-inspiring sight from the room’s enormous windows. We become inspired and deeply involved in creating an art project that stimulates our sensibilities.
ART CLASS
DEVELOPING LITERACY
At any given point in the school day, we read at our own pace, as we’re placed into differentiated activities that foster our independent growth. Books are our friends and are also excellent tools!
READING AND IMAGINING
PLAYING AND PERFORMING
We participate in a variety of music electives with workshops in cello, guitar, violin, recorder, ukulele, and choir. Professional performers guide us in playing instruments and collaborating in an ensemble.
MUSIC WORKSHOPS
A TYPICAL DAY AT eton
Each day, we’re growing faster than the last. Our middle school days are filled with experiences deepening our skills and developing new ones—as we apply our ingenuity and critical thinking beyond the classroom.
GROWING AND MATURING
Every week, we meet with our counselors as part of our Social and Emotional Learning program, discovering who we are, who we want to be, and how we can actively become responsible global citizens.
WEEKLY MEETINGS
TINKERING AND BUILDING
As part of STEM activities and challenges from experts at MIT, we prepare for robotics competitions by creating our own operational machines and moving devices, applying what we’ve learned in math and science.
ROBOTICS
ORGANIZING AND SERVING
We become connected to the community surrounding us as we develop and participate in our own service projects and awareness campaigns, spanning local topics and global issues that matter.
SERVICE AS ACTION
DELIBERATING AND DELEGATING
We can participate in debate simulations and competitions, becoming versed in different arguments. We substantiate key talking points and enrich our critical thinking, rhetorical analysis, and public speaking skills.
DEBATE
TESTING AND EXPERIMENTING
We become hands-on in the practical parts of science class during weekly lab sessions, where we’ll also gain inspiration and motivation to create a project for Eton’s annual Science Fair.
SCIENCE LABS
EXPERIENCING THE WORLD
On camping trips in Hacienda Pipioltepec and Las Estacas, we’ll bond with our classmates and strengthen our sense of community through our shared experiences.
CAMPING TRIPS
A TYPICAL DAY AT ETON
We’re accelerating towards our future every day. We explore the real world through hands-on experiences, and we’re always looking for where we can make a positive difference as leaders—with creativity and critical thinking in our toolbox.
CONNECTING AND LEADING
We’ll vote and elect our class representatives, who connect with everyone, including the school authorities, on the things we all care about. As community leaders, our class representatives also organize and plan exciting student events and assemblies.
STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION
ENGAGING WITH THE WORLD
We participate in a two-week internship program that allows us to sample different fields and industries, so we can make informed decisions about the best pathway forward for our future.
INTERNSHIP WEEK
CREATING SOMETHING MEANINGFUL
We can participate in service projects with NGOs—like the Alzheimer project, Comedor Santa María, and Construye—so we can understand the varied needs of the communities surrounding us and make meaningful contributions.
CREATIVITY, ACTIVITY, SERVICE
LEARNING BY DOING
We can create anything our minds imagine in Eton’s interactive learning space—the Makerspace–where we build creative projects and learn by making something original.
MAKERSPACE
PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE
We receive career counseling when applying to universities, such as support on PSATs, aptitude tests, and scholarships and financial aid. We can also attend a College Fair with over a hundred higher education institutions.
COLLEGE COUNSELING
DELEGATING AND DEBATING
We stay after school to plan our own international Model United Nations (MUN) conference at Eton, which we run as committee chairs. We’ll delegate tasks and debate topics of the most pressing issues facing the globe today.
